Sedona

I've been trying to plan a few days of getaway to Sedona. Maybe meet my brother and his wife there. They live in Bullhead City, Arizona (right by Laughlin, Nevada) and usually I go to Laughlin to visit. We've been talking about going somewhere more scenic that we could enjoy while we visit. Sedona is really gorgeous!

Usually I'm not really into desert scenery but Sedona has beautiful rock formations and trees, too.

It also has an interesting, artsy-craftsy kind of town to visit too.

If you drive out a ways you can see native American dwellings and art on rock walls.

A lot of western movies have been filmed in and around Sedona. We visited there several years ago and I've always wanted to return. The main thing though is I'm missing my brother and I just want to see him.
All photos are from the Sedona website.

Yesterday I went on a little shopping spree at Lane Bryant since I had a gift check. I bought this black sweater with gromet trim.

I got this cute tank to wear under a cardigan sweater. I think it would look dressy with a black cardigan and a black pencil skirt.

Then I got the green sweater for Spring and St. Patrick's Day. After all I am Irish...well partly anyway.
Pepper is OK. Not her usual peppy self. But she is doing pretty well. I hated to see her hurting but it had to be done. The next one up is Jake. We have to get him fixed before we move to the beach. (I'm thinking positive about moving.) We are still trying to get Max well. He's trying
some new medicine for the sores on his gums. He's better but still not well. It's good thing the humans around here are healthy because the fur kids are costing a small fortune. We love them though!
Have a great day! Hugs, Susan

Pepper's Big Day

The vet called it Pepper's Big Day. I just got back from taking her to the vet so she could be spayed. She's also getting caught up on all her shots. We have to pick her up this afternoon. She did really well at the vet. She was pretty calm. I hope she doesn't feet too bad tonight.

This is the shell pattern from Mosser Glass. Friday Caren, Paul and I visited Wendie Monrroy on Main (by the Mission Inn). Caren and Paul occasionally work there and Caren wanted me to meet Wendie. Wendie is a real sweetheart and her shop is filled with wonderful things! I loved this shell pattern and ordered the bowl and the cake plate. It's a gorgeous opalescent blue color.I can't wait for the pieces to come in!

More Treasures

I think this little Hula girl whisk is so pretty. These are all things from Victoria Trading Company.
I really like these crates, especially the ones with the sailor boys. They would be so cute for storage in the kitchen.

Another Sailor boy cutie. I really like him for anywhere in the house.

I'm getting the red headed doll. Her name is Nora which was my mother's name. My mom was a red head, too. I've got to have her in honor of my mom. She's going on the guest room bed.

I want this carafe for my night stand. I have to have water by the bed every night. I always get thirsty!

I have the little blue powder box doll...only mine has reddish brown hair. I finally found a powder puff for her. They were $20. from VTC but I found a much cheaper one at Christmas time.

It' hard to see but the valance ( and curtains) have Lilies of the Valley on them. Lily of the Valley is my birth month flower. So I try to find Lily of the Valley things. I love them. I tried to grow them in Riverside but it go too hot for them. Maybe I can grow them at the beach where it's cooler.

Another Lily of the Valley object which I got from VTC. I use it for silk flowers.

These were free with a purchase. My calves are too fat for them but they're cute. Maybe if I keep up with the Better Me program I can fit into them.

Now these I could wear and they are adorable. I'd love both of them!
Have a great weekend! Hugs, Susan

Treasures

I thought I'd show you some treasures from the new Victoria Trading Company Catalog. Some of these I want and some I've already stashed away for the new house. I love this cute, feminine apron. I have a few aprons: three my grandmother embroidered, one from the sweet Joanne @ My Little Cottage in the Making and a few others. Sometime I'll dig them out and post about them.

I really think these ceramic bowls are gorgeous. They're for storing food and come with plastic lids.

The tea tins are so cute! I collect tins and Irish things since my heritage is Irish, Scottish and English.

More Irish things. Wooden Shamrock plaques. I love the Wild Irish Rose one but they're all cute!

I have this Irish Blessing Tin Plaque.

I have to add this mermaid to my collection. I have quite a few mermaids.

Bathing Beauties. They would look so cute in the bathroom.

This embroidered tablecloth is so pretty. Of course I love flowers.

I want this print for the guest room. I have some shabby chic bedding from Target for that room. I want the room to look kind of feminine and pretty. The office will be more masculine with a futon and some ships and captain stuff for decorations.

Wonderful crochet edges on these towels and monogramed, too.

I have this little laundry sprinkler with the sail boat. I love adding "beachy" things to my collection.

These were a free gift with purchase. I'm not sure what I'm doing with these Japanese lanterns but they're pretty. I'll show you more things tomorrow from my "wish" list and what I had to have list.

Just thought these cats were cute!
On Saturday I got my placemats like these in the mail. They are to go with the dishes I have which are pictured below. The dishes are called Cape Cod by Thomson. They are a pretty aqua color.

This is a closeup of the same design in white. In white it's called seashell. I am all ready to move...well except for packing everything. Some of it's already packed like my dishes. I've been collecting for several years and I have lots of cute beachy things.

Oh, for the Valentines Treats...how could I forget Kiefer? I like the bad boy look!

And Andrew McCarthy. Sweet Irish boy that he is. What a cutie!
Have a great Monday! Hugs, Susan

Welcome to My New Home (I Wish)

This is the street outside. That strip of concrete is extra parking. The dark area next to the brick is for plants. The white fence is part of the porch.

This is the porch...nice and big. There are French doors leading into the living room. It's all newly painted. The house is white with blue trim. The dark area that goes to the mailbox is another planting area. So I can have lots of flowers.

Another view of the porch. The window is for the dining area.

Kitchen with a new stove and oven. Lots of cupboard space and two glass fronted cabinets. I love glass doors on cabinets. The open area at the back leads to the Laundry Room. There are also area above the cabinets to decorate.

Living Room with fireplace. Brand new carpeting.

Dining Area and room for my hutch. Love the French Doors, too.

Bedroom or Office.

Hall Bathroom.

Another Bedroom.

Master Bedroom with closet. There are two closets in the Master Bedroom. His and Hers, I guess.

Bedroom and closet.

Master Bedroom with Her closet.

His closet (of course...it's the smaller one).

Master Bathroom with Don and Real Estate agent, Sylvia. There's a linen closet behind the door.
I really hope this works out because I love it. It's big enough and like new. This is the desire of my heart. We could really have a lovely home here.
Hugs, Susan
