California Dreamin' Part 2

Here's another dream house on Balboa Island. Don't you love that gate? Let's go inside.

I love that little porthole window.

I think I could like living here!

I love the staircase. I might have to redecorate just a little since I like a more casual style. I do like this though.

Pretty Kitchen.

I'm not so sure about the red fan light.

I adore this vanity and the bowl. I really like the stylized waves.

Love the bed! Gorgeous Carpet!

Very nice office where I could blog. I might even do some art here, too.

Beautiful bathtub and shower.

Love this bed, too!

Pretty bath.

A little patio to relax on. I guess I'll have to win two lotteries!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. I am so thankful for my family and my friends: Sharon, Mary Linda, Marie and Scott, Heather, Rick, Carolyn, Will, Eddie and Jennifer, Diana Y., and Sue B. I love you guys and girls!

California Dreamin' on Balboa Island

One of my dream houses on dreamy Balboa Island in Newport Beach. I have loved this island since I was a child. Wouldn't you love to come home to this? It'll be mine when I win the lottery!

Dream Kitchen. I love the white cabinets and glass doors. I might switch out the lighting fixture.

Love the storage and the island.

Of course I have to have a fireplace.

View to the front. Lots are tiny on the island. Oh well, there's always container gardening.

I love this staircase and the transoms.

Nice place for breakfast or a little book nook.

Pretty tiles in a bathroom and an oval tub.

It's all ready for me to move in. Do you think I'll win the money this week? Hope you enjoyed my sweet dream.
Hugs, Susan

Monday at the Movies: My Christmas Favorites

White Christmas is Caren's Favorite. Who does Christmas songs better than Bing?

This movie is worth seeing just for the English cottage (to die for).

Don't know what I did to put it in twice.

My favorite as a child.

So Funny and it reminds me of my childhood.

The best Christmas Carol movie.

Love this! Colin Firth...yum! yum!

Having Cary Grant as an angel visiting you...what could top that?

No matter how hectic and crazy Christmas gets at your house...it's not as crazy as this! I have to watch this each year.

Oh I love this but not for the prudish! Colin Firth again and Liam Neeson and that sexy French guy. ( I went blank on his name).
I have some more that I love and this list is not in order. All of these are great, though!
Hugs, Susan
P.S. Last night at the Village Inn was so much fun! I actually made it there.

Weekend Fun

I'm going out on a limb and saying that I'm going to see "The Band" Sunday evening. I miss my guys. They are on Balboa Island at the Village Inn. It's always fun!
I couldn't resist this picture...the guys might kill me but I love meerkats!
Carolyn and I really enjoyed "On Golden Pond." The show was very well done and the actors really made it their own.
Have a great rest of the weekend! Hugs, Susan

On Golden Pond

Tomorrow Carolyn and I are going to see "On Golden Pond." It's being done by the Riverside Community Players. It sounds like it will be a good show.

I really shouldn't say I'm going to go somewhere because when I do...something always comes up. It's like a superstition of mine! I didn't go to Eddie's party last night even though I had every intention to drive out there. Oh well, life happens to change things sometimes.

Max

Max, aka Maxie Man, Mr. Max, Max a million, Big Max and Big Brother. For about two months Max has been suffering with sores in his mouth. He's been to the vet many times. He's had antibiotics, and other medications to try to heal his mouth. Yesterday he went to the vet. As a last resort they were going to pull most of his teeth. Instead they pulled two molars in the back of his mouth that were really bad with the roots exposed and deteriorated. No wonder Max has not been feeling well and was not a happy cat. Hopefully this will cure the problem. Max is already feeling better...wanting to eat instead of running from the food bowl.

The vets couldn't really see the problem until they put him under and looked way in the back. The xrays helped, too. I'm just thankful that Max is returning to his regular grumpy old man self and not the sick one he has been.

California Fires

As you probably know we are having devastating fires here in Southern California. The fires nearest to me started right off the 91 freeway in Corona. Corona is the nearest city west of where I live. The fires have spread to Yorba Linda, Brea, Carbon Canyon, Chino Hills and the edge of Diamond Bar. Brea is the town I grew up in.

We are east of all the fire areas and are in no danger. The 91 freeway is a major link from the Inland Empire (everything east of Orange County) to the O.C. and Los Angeles. Yesterday the freeway was closed for many hours.

This is the biggest fire I can remember. So many areas are burning at the same time. Fire is one of the major drawbacks to living in So. Calif. Our climate is very much like a desert and we have had very little rain. So all the brush burns easily. The sad thing is that very often people will start these fires. It doesn't take much to start a fire that will burn out thousands of acres. Many people have evacuated, and are losing their homes and property. So far no one has been reported as killed by the fires. Thank God for that!

Please pray for the many families who have lost so much!

I just recieved Will' November Newsletter. This is his new Christmas CD called "Best of the Season." Will plays better than Kenny "What's His Name" and no, I'm not prejudiced!

This is Will playing for his sweet mother who has Alzheimers. Will is very active in lending his talents to benefits for various charities like Alzheimers, Arthritis and also flood victims.

This is the sweet, beautiful Jennifer with Eddie. Eddie has another CD Release Party coming up on November 20 at the Esmeralda in Indian Wells. If you live or are going to be in the Palm Springs area be sure and drop by the Esmeralda Thursdays through Saturdays to hear the guys play! You'll love them!

The Best Hand Cream

Sharon and I went to Victoria Gardens today for lunch. I was feeling a lot better. Sunday I was sick and missed both my Fifties Party and Eddie's CD Release Party. He's having another one at the Esmeralda on the 20th so I can go to that one. Sharon and I ate at the Corner Bakery...Yum! And then I bought some L'Occitane Hand Cream. It's expensive but the best I've ever used. $25.00 but it lasts for a really long time. They have a purse size for $10.00.

Of course I had to check out Lane Bryant where I bought this (only in black). It'll be cute at the Esmeralda with a black pencil skirt. Plus size clothes are so much cuter now. I had to get something new for fall. I JUST had to! I'm really on a budget this year. When I was working full time I got to have more "play" money. Now not so much......sigh.

Red Hat Fifties Party

On Sunday I'm going to the Royal Reginal Roundtable Luncheon in Carlsbad. They're having a Fifties themed party. So I'm wearing this Poodle Skirt with a white top and purple cardigan. Then I have purple flats and the socks below. I'll either wear a red beret or a red satin headband and a red scarf (to cover my hickies...Ha! Ha!). I'm wearing a class ring on a chain.

Afterward I'm going to Eddie's CD Release Party in Balboa so I have to go home and change. I don't have enough nerve to wear the Fifties outfit to the CD party.
I got the cute poodle skirt and socks from Royal Splendor.com in Colorado. I'll take pictures so you can see the outfit when it's all put together.

Welcome to Our New President

Welcome to our new president. May God bless him and our country. I was impressed by his speech. I hope that our country will unite and work together to make the USA as great as it can be.
Sen. McCain was a class act during his speech. He is an American hero and I was moved by how he spoke. I believe he is an honorable and good man who will do his best for America.
