Disneyland

My husband Don with a statue of his boss, Mickey. Don has worked at the Disneyland Resort since he was nineteen. ( Photos are from the Disney Postcards site except for Don's picture.)

Entrance to the Magic Kingdom.

Characters saying "Hi!"

Mickey and Minnie cruising the Park.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is often compared to riding with me when I drive.

Pirates: where you can almost see Mr. Depp. He has been there several times

The Haunted Mansion. There are " no windows and no doors" inside. EEEEK!

Some ghosts having a good time.

The Jungle Cruise and the "backside of water." My favorite joke from the cruise. I'm easily amused.

The Mark Twain.

Tinkerbell flying over the Castle.

Dumbo.

Pluto. Note he is wearing his dog tag. I'm sure he's had his rabies' shot.

Chip and Dale at home. Chip has the brown nose (like a chocolate chip) and Dale has a red nose.

Minnie's Cottage. Love her mailbox and picket fence.

Donald goes for the Nautical Theme for his home.

Mickey's House. Love his stone fireplace. Bye Mickey...see you soon!

I Just Had To Do It

Sir Anthony Hopkins. Look at the picture of him on the bottom left. He had It! I have always had a thing for Sir Anthony since I saw him in the movie "Magic" in which he looked about like he does in that photo on the bottom left. This was back in the seventies. What beautiful blue eyes...so expressive.

Still handsome!

I like his smile and his quirky sense of humor. When he was single he said he wanted to take a date to see "Silence of the Lambs."

Ah, so distinguished and such a man of the world. He likes cats, too. Still love those blue eyes! I'd date him if we weren't both married.

Newport Beach, California

This is why I want to move to the coast. I'm a beach girl at heart!

Today we're at Newport Beach.

Balboa Fun Zone. Not to be confused with Balboa Island.

The Balboa Pavillion in Newport Beach. My guys (Art of Sax) play there in the summer.

Another view of the Pavillion. It's fun to eat lunch there, listen to the band and watch the water.
The food's good, too.
I would love a "dream house" any where along the California Coast. I must win the lottery!
Every home on the water costs over a million dollars. I was born to be independently wealthy but for some reason it hasn't happened yet.

Those who had IT and still do

Oh, yes....Harrison Ford a few years back.
Still sexy eye candy.

Robert Robert...my ideal man. Always will be! When I was in high school I read an article that said you should get dressed every morning as if you were meeting Robert Redford later. It was in Seventeen or something. I always wished I would meet him!

Still got it! I'd still like to meet him today.

Mark Wahberg as a babe.....er baby.

Mark Wahlberg...still a baby. Still going strong!

What to say about Paul Newman? God's gift to women! Remember when he said, "you'll wake up smiling in the morning" in Long Hot Summer? I bet a girl would. Lucky Joanne.

Still handsome in his eighties!

Yes, he made Scottish men sexy.

So distinguished!
Some never lose It!! They just get better like fine wine!

Visit to Laughlin

Caren and I just got back from Lauglin, Nevada where we were visiting my brother, Gary and his wife Shar. The above picture is Laughlin at night. Laughlin is located on the Colorado River.
Gary and Shar moved from Huntington Beach, CA to Bullhead City, Arizona. Bullhead is just across the river from Laughlin. I told Shar that she must love my brother to leave the beach for the desert especially when temperatures reach 115 to 120 degrees in the summer. My brother loves "the river" and always has. But to leave the beach??? I love him but he's a little crazy.
This is a daytime view. Laughlin is sort of a mini Vegas with hotels and casinos. Lots of people from California go there to gamble. It's less expensive than Vegas, too. I actually won $78.00.
WOW! Well, it did help to pay part of the trip.

This time we stayed at the Colorado Belle which you can tell has a riverboat theme. We had two nights of free rooms so of course I went for it! I love my brother and will drive miles and miles and miles to prove it! It's a 4 to 5 hour drive from Riverside to Laughlin (depending on traffic and whether one goes above the speed limit). As I said I adore my brother but this will be my last visit until the summer is over unless we meet in a cooler climate.

Art of Sax

This is the CD cover of my friend Will Donato's new album. If you like jazz you will love this! My friend Carolyn and I went to see Will's band "Art of Sax" at the Village Inn on Balboa Island. They play there every Sunday evening from 6 til 9 pm. They play jazz, R & B, Motown....a little of everything. They're a friendly group and everyone had a great time. Check out the Village Inn if you're down that way.
A little eye candy for you girls. I've known Will and Eddie (his bass guitar player) for 15 years. Art of Sax has played at different venues all over Southern California. If you'd like to hear some great jazz check out Will Donato.com
Have a happy Monday!
Hugs, Susan

My Other Heros from the 30's and 40's

This is William Powell. He's best known for the Thin Man series with Myrna Loy. I think he was absolutely the most charming man. Not exactly handsome but what a personality! Intelligent , Witty comments, fabulous clothes and apartments. I wanted to be Nora to his Nick Charles.

Next Alan Ladd. There's something about detectives, isn't there? Handsome, soft spoken but full of controlled passion.
I wish men still dressed like they did in the thirties and forties. The movies have really shaped my idea of ideal men. And life-styles. Too bad it's not really real. In the movies in the thirties, everyone lived in elegant apartments or mansions. I think that's why we all love antique and vintage things...it reminds us of what we grew up with or wanted to grow up with.

Robert Mitchum

I always thought Robert Mitchum was sexy. He's one of the original "bad boys." My DVD player isn't working right (time to get a new one) so I dragged out an old video of "Night of the Hunter." This movie scared me when I was a child. Shelley Winters' hair flowing under water...Eeeek!

This is such a great movie, beautiful photography and eerie, beautiful music. Robert Mitchum: Handsome, pyschotic, singing hymns and praying....a serial killer. He's attractive and scary and evil.

Lillian Gish is the perfect mother to orphaned children. Anyway, I've always loved this movie. It's fascinating and creepy but heart-warming, too. Check it out sometime.

Sorry these photos are so small but I don't know how to enlarge them. All photos from the internet.
