Monday at the Movies: My Christmas Favorites
The best Christmas Carol movie.
No matter how hectic and crazy Christmas gets at your house...it's not as crazy as this! I have to watch this each year.

On Golden Pond
I really shouldn't say I'm going to go somewhere because when I do...something always comes up. It's like a superstition of mine! I didn't go to Eddie's party last night even though I had every intention to drive out there. Oh well, life happens to change things sometimes.

Max
Max, aka Maxie Man, Mr. Max, Max a million, Big Max and Big Brother. For about two months Max has been suffering with sores in his mouth. He's been to the vet many times. He's had antibiotics, and other medications to try to heal his mouth. Yesterday he went to the vet. As a last resort they were going to pull most of his teeth. Instead they pulled two molars in the back of his mouth that were really bad with the roots exposed and deteriorated. No wonder Max has not been feeling well and was not a happy cat. Hopefully this will cure the problem. Max is already feeling better...wanting to eat instead of running from the food bowl.
The vets couldn't really see the problem until they put him under and looked way in the back. The xrays helped, too. I'm just thankful that Max is returning to his regular grumpy old man self and not the sick one he has been.

California Fires
We are east of all the fire areas and are in no danger. The 91 freeway is a major link from the Inland Empire (everything east of Orange County) to the O.C. and Los Angeles. Yesterday the freeway was closed for many hours.
This is the biggest fire I can remember. So many areas are burning at the same time. Fire is one of the major drawbacks to living in So. Calif. Our climate is very much like a desert and we have had very little rain. So all the brush burns easily. The sad thing is that very often people will start these fires. It doesn't take much to start a fire that will burn out thousands of acres. Many people have evacuated, and are losing their homes and property. So far no one has been reported as killed by the fires. Thank God for that!
Please pray for the many families who have lost so much!
