A Note About the Party

Just wanted to let you know the party was really fun. I'll post pictures soon. My dress turned out well. Everyone at the Red Hat Birthday was dressed up. There were beautifuls hats and clothes!

The Queen Mary

I thought I'd share a few photos from the Queen Mary website. The Red Hat Society is having a birthday party there on Friday night. The Queen Mary is fun to visit. I haven't been for several years and it sounds like the tour has been divided up into several tours so it's probably a little more expensive now. It is interesting if you're into ships and the ocean. It's also supposed to be haunted.
I also loved the Poseidon Adventure which was filmed here. Anything to do with ocean liners turns me on!

Red Hat Society Birthday Party

This is the "hat" and dress I'm wearing to the Red Hat Birthday Party on the Queen Mary. The party is Friday with red carpet walk, dinner, dancing and fireworks. I love my dress and it fits perfectly, too bad I don't look quite as good as the girl in the picture. My only problem with the dress was that the sleeves were too long. Yesterday I had to take it to my cleaners so they could shorten the sleeves. It's supposed to be done Friday morning and I hope it turns out OK! If not I'll have to wear another dress which isn't as pretty. Wish me luck!

Savannah-Part 2

I'm so excited about Savannah. This is the hotel where I'll be staying. This is the Riverfront Marriot.

My bedroom. Another place that could use John Cusack. You've guessed by now that he's a secret boyfriend (see Derfwad Manor). The Red Hats ARE having a Slumber Party. Maybe if we invite John......

After all the sightseeing, I'll be needing this. I've already booked two tours: Haunted Savannah with dinner at the Pirate House and a Riverboat lunch but (sob, sniff, wail) I couldn't book the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Tour ( the one I HAVE to go on). I hope someone cancels so I can go. I know this trip is a long way off but I can't wait!

Savannah

I'm going to Savannah. It's long way off but I'm still excited. The Red Hat Society is having a convention there in October and I'll be there!

Savannah is so beautiful! I've wanted to go since I saw "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." I wish John Cusack was still there. What a cutie he is!

Overview of the City

This is what Riverside looks like in the winter. Actually So. Cal only has 3 seasons: Spring, Summer and Fall (except in the moutains).

Virginia Lake--See the Snow

This is what we needed today in Riverside. It was like summer here (in the 90's) except in the summer, it can be well over 100. My mother refused to visit us in the summer and I remember the heat didn't bother me. Now I know what she felt like. It must be getting to a "certain age" that does it.

We were planning on moving to the nice cool beach until the housing market fell from the sky. We will be in Riverside until??? Riverside is OK but I was born and raised in the OC and still long for the beach. But for now, we will upgrade our little yellow tract house (that wants to be a cottage) until prices go up again.

Riverside is a nice little city. We're about half way between Los Angeles and Palm Springs. In the desert...OH MY. This little beach girl wants the ocean. River City is famous for the Mission Inn. I'll try to post some pictures of our town soon.

Adventures in Paradise

I love Hawaii. These pictures were taken on our last vacation there. I was dragged kicking and screaming to the plane to go home (and not because I was afraid of flying). I did not want to go

home! I'm still longing to return.
